Teaching Dance Clubs

University of Alberta Dance Club - This huge organization provides affordable dance lessons to large numbers of people.  Students include U of A students and alumni but also members of the public of a wide variety of ages and occupations.  Classes are typically very large (often 100 or more) and are taught by a combination of teachers and TA's (teaching assistants).  The teachers do a tremendous job of detailing the dance steps and technique while the TA's work the room helping individuals with specific points.  Students rotate amoung partners in these classes.  This method is especially good for getting to know multiple dance partners.  As a result the club is better than average for mixing at socials!  Three cheers!!! For more details visit their website, www.uadc.ca or call   Their website has a place to sign up for a newsletter with updates on club activities.  One more point.  The club balances numbers by cutting off registration for single women when the m/f ratio gets out of whack.  Therefore, single women need to register early.  Registration is around the first of each university semester.
